Parents/Guardians of Students at Lee County Schools:

A Federal funding opportunity called Impact Aid is designed to assist local school districts that have lost tax revenue due to the presence of tax-exempt federal property or experienced increased expenditures due to the enrollment of federally connected children. Eligibility for funding is determined each school year through the Federal Impact Aid Survey Form. Lee County Schools has combined the Impact Ad Survey with the Every Student Succeeds Act Military Student Identifier Form.

To qualify for Impact Aid funding, we must have a completed form for each federally connected student. To ensure we reach all eligible families, we sent a form home with students within Lee County Schools, made thd survey form available through the Parent Portal, and posted the form on the Auxiliary Department page of the Lee County School website. 

• If you are a parent, step-parent, or guardian currently serving in the military or are a veteran of military service, please fill out SECTION 1 and SECTION 2, sign, date, and return the survey to your child’s school. Students DO NOT have to reside with the military-connected parent.
• If you are a parent, step-parent, or guardian living with a student and work on federal property in the state of North Carolina, please complete SECTION 1 and SECTION 3, sign, date, and return the survey to your child’s school. Students of parents working on federal property MUST reside with the parent to be eligible.
• If you are an accredited foreign government official or a foreign military officer, please complete SECTION 2 and SECTION 4, sign, date, and return the survey to your child’s school
• If you are not in the military and are not employed on Federal property, you do not have to return the form.
• PLEASE NOTE-In SECTION 2, under Military Status, if you checked you are Active Reserves (AGR) or Active National Guard (AGR), please provide a copy of your orders.

All of the survey forms will be treated as confidential information and will be used for no other purpose than stated here. Forms are maintained at the Central Office and only total numbers of federally connected students are reported to the Department of Education. Personal information collected on the forms never leaves the district.

Please complete, sign and return the attached form to your school by Friday December 9, 2022.

Estimado Padre/Tutor del Estudiante de Lee County Schools:

El programa de recursos federales Impact Aid (Ayuda de Impacto) permite ayudar a los distritos escolares locales que han perdido ingresos impositivos como consecuencia de la presencia de propiedades federales libres de impuestos, o que han experimentado un aumento en la matrícula de estudiantes vinculados con el gobierno federal. La elegibilidad para recibir fondos a nivel distrital depende de la información provista cada año en la Encuesta de Ayuda de Impacto Federal. Lee County Schools ha combinado dicha encuesta con el Formulario de Identificación del Estudiante Vinculado con el Personal Militar de la ley Every Student Succeeds Act. 

Para calificar para Ayuda de Impacto, Lee County Schools necesita recabar datos sobre todo estudiante vinculado con el gobierno federal. A fin de garantizar contar con los datos de todas las familias que pertenecen a esta categoría, enviamos a los padres un formulario de Ayuda de Impacto (Impact Aid) a través de cada estudiante matriculado en el distrito, se puso a disposición el formulario a través del Portal de Padres y publicamos el formulario en la página del Departamento de Servicios Estudiantiles del sitio web de Lee County Schools.  

• Si usted es padre/madre, padrastro/madrastra, o tutor/a del estudiante y actualmente presta servicios o es veterano de las Fuerzas Armadas, complete la PARTE 1 y la PARTE 2, firme, ponga la fecha y devuelva el formulario a la escuela. NO ES REQUISITO que el estudiante resida con el padre/la madre vinculado con la milicia.
• Si usted es padre/madre, padrastro/madrastra, o tutor/a del estudiante, con quien reside, y actualmente trabaja dentro de un predio del gobierno federal en el estado de Carolina del Norte, complete la PARTE 1 y la PARTE 3, firme, ponga la fecha y devuelva a la escuela. ES REQUISITO que el estudiante resida con el padre/la madre empleado/a en dicho predio.
• Si usted es funcionario/a acreditado/a, u oficial de la milicia de un gobierno extranjero, complete la PARTE 2 y la PARTE 4, firme, ponga la fecha y devuelva el formulario a la escuela.
• Si usted no pertenece a las Fuerzas Armadas ni trabaja en un predio del gobierno federal, no es necesario que devuelva el formulario a la escuela.
• SECCIÓN 2-TENGA EN CUENTA: Si bajo Estatus Militar usted indica que pertenece a la Reserva Activa (AGR) o a la Guardia Nacional Activa (AGR), le pedimos que adjunte una copia de las órdenes.

La información suministrada será considerada confidencial y solo se usará para los fines aquí detallados. Los formularios permanecerán en la oficina central del distrito escolar y solo se informarán las cifras totales de estudiantes vinculados con el gobierno federal. La información personal recabada en los formularios no saldrá del distrito.

Sírvase completar, firmar y devolver el formulario adjunto a partir de hoy y hasta el viernes 9 de diciembre de 2022.
