Welcome to my page! My name is Mrs. Orellana. I came back home to teach at the high school I graduated from. After high school, I received my Associate in Arts at Central Carolina Community College and then transferred to Meredith College to receive my Bachelors. I majored in Family Consumer Science and received a minor in Psychology.
While in school:
- Worked with infants at the school daycare (Ellen Brewer House)
- Observed Wake County schools
- Worked with the Meredith Autism Program in a one on one setting and in a preschool setting working with amazing children ages 3-6.
- Interned with IGNITE at the Autism Society of North Carolina working with high-functioning young adults on the spectrum. Three months in I was asked to work part-time until the end of July 2019 when I gladly accepted my positon at SLHS.
This semester I am teaching Principles of Family and Human Services, Apparel and Textiles 1, and Child Development. This is my second year teaching and I am excited to help students achieve their potential and grow side by side on this new and exciting journey!
