Hi! My name is Heather Mitchell. In 2016, I graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. I'm a Literacy Specialist here at Ingram. I've been at Ingram for five years. I've taught fourth grade reading, math, science, and social studies. I was honored to be named J.R. Ingram's 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year. Teaching is my passion, and I love being an Ingram Eagle!🦅
As a literacy specialist, I will embrace student's unique strengths and needs by creating a safe learning environment where students are challenged and supported academically, socially, and emotionally. Students will learn and inquire in different ways, including a hands-on approach, collaboration with classmates, and classroom discourse.
