    It's no secret that education
is the key to success, not
    only for people but for
    entire communities, as well.
    Good, healthy schools
    that produce a highly
    qualified workforce lead
    directly to economic
    development and a better
    quality of life for everyone.
    That's precisely what
    Lee County JobReady does,
    and that's why this
    effort is so essential.

    Help Our Students Be JobReady!

You can help our students learn essential skills and give us all a strong future. Here are some ways you can get involved today:

Provide Internships and Apprenticeships. Give your business the additional assistance you need, while providing work experience and learning opportunities for talented students. Who knows: You may even find your next great leader!

Let a Student Watch You Work. Do you have a skill or trade that you'd like to share? Short-term job shadowing allows you to pass along your own wisdom and gives students a chance to explore careers and refine their interests. And in some cases, these experiences have changed lives.

Hire a Talented Student. Trained to enter both college and the workforce, Lee County students are highly skilled in several high-demand areas. Students may get the job, but you also benefit from their cutting-edge knowledge and enthusiasm.

Suggest Community Projects.Do you know of a need in our community? Lee County students are often available to step in and handle an array service-learning projects that enhance the students' skills and make life better for all of us.

Be a Community Advocate.Learn more about opportunities available to students and become an advocate in our community for career and technical training. You can stay on top of breaking news by joining our e-mail update list.

Make a Contribution. Especially in a time of tight budgets, you can help students get what they need for a strong education and successful life. Tax-deductible contributions go directly to assist career and technical education in Lee County Schools and Central Carolina Community College.

    About Lee County JobReady

Created in 1996, the Lee County JobReady Partnership Council is a grassroots organization supporting career and technical education in middle and high schools. The council is affiliated with Lee County Schools and works closely in partnership with Central Carolina Community CollegeLee County Economic Development and other local organizations.

Members locate and arrange apprenticeships, internships, job shadowing and other educational opportunities for students outside of the classroom. They also serve in many other ways — speaking in the classroom, organizing field trips or volunteering to assist with various academic projects.

Quarterly meetings keep members up-to-date on the latest needs and trends. While the agenda varies, gatherings usually feature leaders from the schools, community college, area business, local governments and civic groups.

Working through student organizations, JobReady helps students participate in real-world competitions, leadership-building events and career development activities. Those groups include DECAFCCLAFBLAFFAHOSASkills USA-VICA and TSA.

Our membership, according to state law, also serves as the official advisory council for theLee County Schools Career and Technical Education program.

Lee County JobReady Partnership Council is a charitable, nonprofit organization, as recognized by Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions are tax deductible. Please consult your tax professional for guidance.
