• CAVALIER BATTALION SPECIAL TEAMS

  • The Army JROTC program at Southern Lee, offers a number of teams for cadets to join and represent the Cavalier Battalion. These teams participate in multiple tri-meets and organized meets to compete against other schoools in the same military branch. Schools that participate are given awards that are placed on cadets' uniforms. School battalions are also awarded trophies, medals, ribbons, and/or streamers for the placement of their battalion in the competition.

  •  The drill team is an exciting extension of the discipline, teamwork,  and leadership skills acquired in JROTC. The drill team participates in competitions and is the most important team of the program. Cadets are disciplined because drill is a very formal activity. Participating and being a part of the drill team is very rewarding and educational.

  • Prep Prep The more complex and detailed aspects of drill. Color Guard participates in formal presentations of the U.S. Colors, participate in competitions along with the drill team, and present the colors at home football games.

  •  The raider team is a team of eight or more cadets, including a commander, that specializes in the phsyical activities of the JROTC program. The team is built on commitment and most importantly teamwork. The raider team also participates in competitions. The competitions include physical training tests, rope bridge, 5k runs, and more. Truck pull, obstacle course, and litter carry are extra special events.

Air Rifle Team

  • The air rifle team requires a lot of dedication and concentration. You may not know anything about shooting a rifle, but you'll learn all about the rifle and safety precautions as well. The air rifle team also participates in shooting matches. This is a tough and challenging sport, but also a great experience for all and any cadets,
