JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC)
Every year, twenty selected cadets go to Oak Ridge Military Academy and participate in a 5 day, 4 night summer camp. During these five days, cadets are challenged by activities such as rappelling off both a 30-foot and 60-foot tower, an obstacle course, drown proofing, and more. There is plenty of diversity during this week, as there are cadets coming from all over North Carolina and Virginia. Cadets are given the opportunity to lead other cadets. All costs are covered by the Army except for the $20 shirt. Cadets who attend camp come back as stronger and more developed leaders.
