My name is Denise Cash-Pinckney and I am the Literacy Intervention Specialist and Curriculum Support Coach here at J.R Ingram Elementary. First, I would like to share some background information about myself. I am married to my awesome husband, Derrick. We have 3 beautiful daughters: Kiara, Destiny, and Jasmine.  We also have two beautiful grandchildren (Xavier and Arya).  They are truly our little blessings. I have an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Special Education, and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Leadership. I have over 23 years of experience working with students here and abroad. This is my 6th year at Ingram.  I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade.

As a Literacy Intervention Specialist, I will support, supplement, reinforce, and extend classroom teaching by providing effective literacy instruction.  The literacy instruction implemented will be based on effective research-based strategies to meet the unique needs and challenges students face in the classroom. The “one size fit all” approach will not be used.  My many years of working with children has helped me understand that children learn differently and at different rates.  My teaching will be tailored to each student’s preferred style of learning.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.  I am so excited about this school year and look forward to working with students and families.
