Lee County Schools COVID-19 Dashboard
Click here to view the COVID-19 Dashboard - Updated each school day by approximately 9 am to reflect the previous day's information.
The goal of the dashboard is to give our families and the community information about the impact of COVID-19 on the school district by providing data on the positive cases and quarantines for students and staff. The data includes cases known by school and district nursing staff. Names and other identifying information will not be included in this data. The dashboard includes data from 8/23/21 forward and will be updated each school day by approximately 9 am to reflect the previous day's information.
Definitions of Reported Data
Positive - Individuals with a lab-confirmed positive test. Isolation is required for all presumptive or confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Quarantine - Individuals who might have been exposed to COVID-19 or who have recently had close contact (within 6 feet for at least 15 minutes cumulatively over a 24-hour period) with someone with COVID-19. Quarantine is required for these individuals with the following three exceptions:
- Individuals who are fully vaccinated and do not have symptoms do NOT need to quarantine after a close contact. Individual should get tested 3-5 days after exposure and wear a mask around others until receiving a negative test result.
- People who have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 3 months and recovered and do not have symptoms do NOT have to quarantine.
- Students who are not fully vaccinated after a close contact in a classroom or other school setting if masks were being worn appropriately and consistently by both the person with COVID-19 and the potentially exposed person do NOT need to quarantine.
Lee County Schools follows all guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) as outlined in the StrongSchoolsNC Toolkit, including handling Possible, Suspected, Presumptive, or Confirmed Positive cases of COVID-19.
Our nursing staff works closely with the Lee County Health Department to identify students and staff members who have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive and follows the guidance of the Health Department to deal with each case on an individual basis. Ultimately, it is the authority of the Health Department to issue isolation or quarantine orders for our students and staff.
