    The goal of the Public Information Office is to create an atmosphere for honest, open, two-way internal and external communication between the school district and the community.

    The Public Information Office serves students, parents, teachers, other members of the community, and the media by providing clear, timely and accurate information.

    The Public Information Office is responsible for keeping the community informed and involved in our schools. As a result, the Public Information Officer:

    • Serves as a point of contact for parents and the community when they are seeking information or wanting to share a suggestion or concern.
    • Works with schools to promote the positive accomplishments of students and teachers.
    • Maintains the district website.
    • Produces publications and marketing materials.
    • Serves as the media’s liaison to the district.
    • Coordinates media releases for local newspapers/TV/radio.
    • Builds business and community support for Lee County Schools.

    Resources
    Educator Passport Program
    The Educator Passport program is a partnership between Lee County Schools and Lee County businesses and merchants. Participating businesses have the opportunity to reach more than 1,200 customers by offering special discounts or benefits to LCS employees. To qualify for the discount, employees are required to present their LCS ID badge to participating businesses.

    We welcome businesses to become a part of this program at any time during the year. Just complete an Educator Passport Participant Form to join in this free opportunity.
    Distribution of Non-School Materials
    Lee County Schools utilizes the Peachjar platform to send our families flyers via email and to be posted on a virtual flyer board, rather than having paper copies sent home with students.

    Organizations and businesses are still able to send flyers to our families, but must do so by creating a Peachjar account and uploading flyers to it for approval by our district. Here is a link to our Peachjar site and a little more information.

    In all schools of this school system, the following agencies and organizations are permitted to distribute or display educational information or information about programs and activities of interest to students per Board Policy 5210:

    1. local, state and federal government agencies and departments;
    2. non-profit organizations that offer educational, recreational, cultural or character development activities or programs for school-aged children, including but not limited to Scouts, YMCA or YWCA, organized youth sport leagues, etc.;
    3. school/business partnerships or incentive programs that directly enhance or support the school’s educational program; and
    4. community colleges, universities, and other non-profit institutions of higher education.

    Please see our Board Policy 5210 - Distribution of Non-School Material for additional information.

    Non-profit organizations do not have to pay any associated fees, but must upload the letter of determination/proof of non-profit status/501(c)3 in order to have the fees waived. Once that is submitted, a non-profit is able to upload flyers (for approval) without having to pay.

    All flyers to be distributed must contain the following disclaimer:
    This is a non-school material that is neither endorsed nor necessarily reflective of the views of Lee County Schools.

    If you have any questions about using Peachjar, please let us know. Peachjar also has support lines and even a chat option that allows you to message with a representative in real time.
