My name is Mike Morgan and I am the Senior Army Instructor for the JROTC Department at Lee County High School.  After a very rewarding 25 year career in the US Army, I feel exceptionally fortunate to be a part of the warm learning environment on the LCHS campus.  I look forward to working with cadets and their parents in order to motivate our children to develop good citizenship.

To share a bit of my background…  I grew up in Niagara Falls, NY, where I went to public elementary, middle and high schools and participated in a variety of sports and extracurricular events.  From there, I earned an Army ROTC four year scholarship and applied it to my undergraduate work at Niagara University, where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Science, as well as a commission in the US Army Corps of Engineers.  During my military service, I also earned a Master of Arts in Liberal Arts degree from Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!).

My family and I absolutely love the Sandhills of North Carolina, as we have spent the majority of our military years living here.  Over time, the area has truly become our home and we feel very fortunate to be able to remain in this area beyond retirement from the Army.

My wife Maggie and I have been married for 32 years and we have two (somewhat) adult children.

To the students, parents, staff and faculty of Lee County High School: thank you for entrusting me with your student and allowing me to help shape their education.  I look forward to meeting and working with all of you in the days ahead.
