Broadway Families,
As we reflect on all that we have been through together these last few years, we look forward with optimism to the 2022-23 school year. Having students in the building full time was an important boost to the spirits of our staff and students and led to greatly improved performance for our students. We are excited to continue that progress throughout this school year.
We are thrilled to begin our partnership with Participate Learning and offer a Spanish dual language immersion classroom in kindergarten and a Spanish period each week for all of our students. Additionally, all students will be able to participate in STEM specials time this year. We feel these offerings, along with our Pre-K program, help provide the types of opportunities our students need to be globally competitive and have every chance at the brightest future possible.
Along with the additional class offerings this year, our teachers will be hard at work on Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) training. This training will allow teachers to learn a great deal about the science of reading and how children best learn to read and then apply those findings in their classrooms. We believe that in a society where college and career opportunities are largely based on what you know, that the ability to read is the foundation of building the knowledge base students must have to be competitive after they leave Broadway Elementary School.
If our school can ever be of assistance to you, please reach out to us at (919) 258-3828. We are eager to work with you to help make tomorrow better today for your child, every day.
Best wishes and GO WILDCATS!!
