    Seventh Grade Immunization Requirements
    horse getting shot
As of July 1, 2015, North Carolina law requires seventh graders have the meningococcal vaccine by September 22, 2015 or will be excluded from school until the requirement is fulfilled. The meningococcal disease is a rare, but potentially life-threatening bacterial infection.  It can potentially kill an otherwise healthy young person within one day after the first symptoms appear.  Please make sure to contact your family physician or the Lee County Health Department to set up an appointment to get this taken care of as soon as possible.  You will need to bring proof of the vaccine or your updated shot record to Nurse Blackmon.
